Cafe Rosa - Chicago

I'm sorry to say that this restaurant has declined in quality. While the food remains fantastic, the service is quite disappointing. The waitstaff rarely smiles and the service lacks attention. There are also issues with flies inside the restaurant, and the tables are unstable and wobbly. I recently discovered a new Puerto Rican restaurant down the street that offers better service and food, and I think I’ll be making that my new go-to spot. I've been coming here since it opened in 2015, but unfortunately, service is just as important as the food, and it hasn't improved at all. With other nearby options for Puerto Rican cuisine, this place is no longer preferable.

LOVE THIS AUTHENTIC PUERTO RICAN SPOT ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE! Must get the Jibbarito con arroz y gandules with xtra garlic sauce made with bistek. Although the portion and the amount of meat has gotten smaller BUT there was still plenty to share for two people!! Haven’t been inside as we usually get it delivered via Grubhub….and love the way they remodeled. Roomier and more decorative! The bistek encebollado is awesome as well! Super tastey! MUST TRY!!!

The food was good. The pork chops were well made and seasoned pretty good. The service was horrible though. The table was dirty. Waitress was bothered when we asked for a rag to wipe it a bit. We were four people but they gave us 3 napkins. The waitress seemed bothered. The restaurant was a pretty hot ?Food: 5/5

Great food and the service was good until the female came and got involved, then got immediately aggravated by the many orders and to the point where she was visually and plainly rude in her manners. If you can't handle large parties and treat people kindly, you have no business serving. In a world where customer service plays a big factor, no matter how good the food is, your service leaves a bad taste in our mouths and in our minds. You were asked for a spoon? That's a normal request. They asked you 3 times and you forgot it 3 times! A spoon! Anyways, there's no need to bash her ignorance, she's just not cut out for the public service industry.

Was in the neighborhood and ran in for some take out. Service was very fast. Very friendly and accommodating! Best jibarito I've had in a really long time, perfect amount of garlic on top! Chill atmosphere inside with plenty of seating and a bar area Definitely coming back with my family.Food: 5/5
