Ruk - Chicago

We ate here on a Friday night and when we arrived the place only had a few patrons. My first thought was "not impressive". It was almost diner like in the setting. The staff was friendly and the place looked clean. They do not serve alcohol but you can bring your own. We were heading to a play down the street after dinner so I ordered a coke to get a little caffeine in me. As an appetizer we ordered the mini chicken eggrolls. They were very good as was the sweet/sour sauce that came with them. My husband ordered a sushi combo plate and I had the pad thai. Everything was really good. I'm not a raw fish lover but sampled his rolls and they were very fresh. My pad thai was steaming hot and delicious. The sauce was just sweet enough. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. By the time we were leaving, the place was starting to get busy.

Eat this sushi at the restaurant, not to go, or delivery, doesn't taste the same.

The location is small, good for date night. Enjoyed the sushi rolls. Some interesting combinations. Service was friendly and prompt. Portions and pricing was as expected.

Food was great. I'm assuming someone didn't show up to work because there was only server on the floor and it took long. In fact, after we got our food, the server never had a chance to check up on us again because of how busy it was and we both needed refills. I know that it's a small venue but I really don't enjoy sitting literally feet next to other people eating and being able to hear each others conversations.

Excellent thai food. Did not have the sushi, but it looked good too. We brought our own drinks and the waitress provided a bucket with ice.
