Traspasada - Chicago

Fun little peppy spot. The black salsa is mesmerizing. The food is pretty good for its price. All in all, a good spot for tacos/ burritos/ Chile reyeyannos et al.

We are blessed with an abundance of great Mexican restaurants in the area and Traspasada ranks near the top. I highly recommend the Cesina Burrito, with Suizo of course. Also a special item not often found at any restaurant is Smelt. I love it!

Emma and Israel our servers were so wonderful and friendly! Service was fast and you the food is ALWAYS worth the drive! I no longer live in the city and it's the one Mexican restaurant I will always go back to. Best tacos, Taco salad and horchata I've ever had!

For all the years I’ve been going here I don’t have a single picture on this telephone. We have been eating there since they opened. I wanna say in the early 2000s it’s 20+ years. Same family. There are three locations. It is the best salsa or black sauce as they like to call it anywhere in the city, if you don’t believe me fight me. I think this location at Belmont, Elston and California has the best Carne Asada tacos. I do get other things there. Their other locations are in Addison and Ashland and Chicago and Ashland.

Cashier/waitress and cooks accommodated our order by making 1 torta half half of 2 different kinds of meat, which they don't normally do. But they were kind enough to do so. Food was very fresh and good.
