Memelas Thai Bistro - Chula Vista

The food at this restaurant is exceptional and unique, complemented by excellent service. While the decor is somewhat minimal, it's still quite acceptable. Personally, I'm not a fan of the signature dish, memelas, but there are plenty of fantastic options from both Mexican and Thai cuisines that I really enjoy. My favorites include the Smoked Marlin Quesataco, the fresh Spring Rolls, and the green curry. All the sauces, whether Mexican or Thai, appear to be made in-house and taste fantastic, even when paired with dishes from the other cuisine. The authenticity is enhanced by the presence of a Thai owner and a Mexican owner, both of whom are very friendly. We visit this place quite frequently. It's conveniently located just off the 805 at Bonita Rd, always has ample parking, and offers reasonable prices.

I ordered the Thai platter, while my wife opted for the nachos. This restaurant combines Thai and Mexican cuisine, and also features some fusion dishes on the menu. On the Thai side, there are a few noodle options, but the focus is mainly on non-noodle dishes. The Mexican selections are quite straightforward, offering items like burritos and nachos. The guacamole, in particular, was delightful.

I visited this restaurant for the first time a few years ago, and I absolutely loved it. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and everything was just fantastic. However, I've noticed that the quality has declined a bit recently. Instead of dining in and potentially waiting a long time, I’ve opted for takeout. Unfortunately, there have been a few instances where the food quality hasn’t met my expectations. I still enjoy going there, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to persuade others to join me as the experience isn't as good anymore.

My husband and I have eaten here several times and always had a great experience. We've tried several dishes and would re-order each one again.
