Carl's Deli - Cincinnati

The most delicious place to get sandwiches and more!!! The Carl's Country Club was the perfect amount of meat and cheese, it just hit the spot. That with some dill pickle chips and a side of potato salad made this the best lunch ever.I was also delighted to find slices of cheesecake from the local Gary's Cheesecake. We love Gary's Cheesecake and had him make a cake for our wedding. To discover slices of his cake here literally made a tear form in my eye.The staff are also super friendly, answered every question we had, and gave wonderful suggestions on what we should try.

The staff and ordering experience is wonderful! I am updating my review to remove a star, as the sandwich portions (or ratios? have gotten noticeably smaller in the last year or so at Carl’s, and I no longer feel like most of the menu has a great value as it once did. Everything still tastes amazing with a great selection.

I was blown away by the choices, and after reading all 40 or so sandwiches that I could have had, on at least a dozen choices of fresh and soft bread, I stopped on the Cuban... because whenever I see a Cuban sandwich on a menu, that's what I get.This one did not disappoint it impressed me.Chris made our sandwiches, and she steered us in the right direction on every detail. I couldn't have been any happier than if I had ordered that sandwich in Havana.I grew up on neighborhood deli food in Brooklyn finding this little joint in a neighborhood far far from home was just terrific luck. Don't hesitate, just stop in, talk to the friendly people, and let me know how much you loved it.

Stopped at this place with the family before visiting the zoo. We were disappointed there were no seats to eat at after traveling, but it’s a true deli and that is understandable. The food did not disappoint, everything was fresh and the staff was exceptionally friendly. We were not sure what we wanted and the staff was extremely accommodating and patient. We have already discussed going back to this place next time we are in Cincinnati. Can’t say enough good things about this place but be prepared for takeout only.

Unfortunately I'm a very picky eater and have dietary restrictions so going to a new place is always a source of anxiety. But the gentlemen in this deli made it clear up front that I ask the questions, and they will do what they can to deliver a great sandwich for me and make me feel so comfortable. No question was odd and unlike other local deli's, there was no complaint or argument. I cannot wait to eat the sandwich tomorrow because it looks delicious and meets everything I want for lunch tomorrow. Thank you so much to the employees here for making this a very easy process.
