Lodge Coffee Shop - Citrus Heights

The eggs benedict was incredibly delicious; for the first time in a long time, I didn't take the other half home!

Our first experience was good but the food was only warm and we weren't offered toast with our breakfast.

Let's start with the fact that the waitresses were some of the friendliest I've had in months. Very personable and charming. The restaurant looks cozy and clean. There are 4 tables, 6 booths, a table booth combo, and like 9 counter seats so it is very cozy by modern standards, which is nice. Unfortunately, the food I ordered tasted either canned or frozen. The chicken fried steak was about as good as Denny's but the gravy tasted like it came from a generic white can with County Gravy written on it in black writing. The potatoes were just fine. The over easy eggs were mixed with one medium and one hard. In the end the friendly staff couldn't make up for boring poorly prepared food.

Delicious homemade food! The staff is incredibly friendly! This local restaurant is truly a hidden gem. I can't emphasize enough how fantastic it is!

The staff at the Lodge are truly wonderful. A special shoutout to Karen and Leslie for their exceptional friendliness to everyone. If you visit the Lodge, you'll understand what I mean!
