Augustus Harris

Excellent choice for a cosy date with very nice food and moderate price. Enjoyed the pistachio sauce on prosciutto :P

We were recommended Augustus Harris by discerning friends. It's a small gem, ideal for lunch or pre theatre for a light bite. Very convenient for The Royal Opera House and other theatres. Delicious Italian accented bruschetta were especially good, as was the wine (the list looked inviting), in a pleasant, comfortable, hint of rustic, atmospheric environment. Kind service from the helpful barman who could not have been more quietly attentive to our questions about the wine list between preparing cocktails with an understated but expert air for those at the small bar as well as the waitress. Together, the atmosphere, menu and service gave a distinctive, personal, individual feeling to the place, rare now around Covent Garden. There are more tables downstairs but we didn't see them so can't comment.

Had a great time at Augustus. Great service and lovely simple menu containing the best of Italian small plates in our view. However, the wines choices are a bit limited and could be improved. The red's especially could be better given the quality of the food.

Friendly atmosphere, good food, excellent wine all the making for a perfect night with friends or lovers.

The Salumi and Cheese boards were a delight. Carefully chosen produce, served at the correct temperatures and a wonderful bottle of chilled Gavi. A wonderful pre-theatre light dinner, with warm, helpful staff and buzzing ambience.
