Boyds Brasserie Lounge

The food at this restaurant is good, but they have recently changed their menu. We ordered 4 entrees, an appetizer, 2 cocktails, and a bottle of wine, which came to a total of £220 for 4 people. This is on the expensive side for a non-Michelin restaurant. The wine list could have included more French wines. The ambiance is pleasant and the service staff are friendly, but it seems like the restaurant may not have enough resources for all their guests. I was surprised that the establishment automatically included a tip in our bill. I believe tips should be at the discretion of the customer based on the quality of the service. Otherwise, why not just increase the prices of the dishes instead?

Affordable and conveniently located, but surprisingly empty - I can see why. In all honesty, the Primitivo wine was quite odd and the platter was just terrible. The food had a cheap and chewy taste, making the dining experience quite unpleasant. If a restaurant in central London is deserted on a Saturday night, there's likely a good reason for it!

This dining experience began poorly with dirty, sticky chairs and a unfriendly waitress who argued about cleanliness. Our drinks were never brought to us and our food order had to be taken twice because it was forgotten. Maria stepped in to organize the drinks, take our food order again, and ensure everything was going smoothly. Without her, the whole experience would have been terrible. The food was average, with the bavette being particularly disappointing as it was overcooked.

We were a group of 14 friends going to Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre. We had pre-ordered and the waiter who dealt with our meals knew exactly who was having what, the serving was quick and efficient. Bill paying was a bit complicated as I had paid a deposit but the first bill had not taken account of this and there was a certain amount of confusion. Food was good and we got to the theatre on pretty good time considering the size of the group. Pre meal arrangements efficiently handled by manager Carl.

Nice place for a drink and a light meal. Friendly and attentive staff. Close on Sun and Mon. Price was not that bad. Not too crowded either on a Sat.
