Forget about Dunkin’ Donuts. Forget about crispy cream donuts. Forget about any other donut because the best are here at Shaikh’s. Get the glazed donuts.

I paid $9.25 for two donuts and a bacon cheeseburger with fries. The donuts, which had glazed frosted strawberry topping, were incredibly light and fluffy, and best of all, they weren't excessively sweet. As for the bacon cheeseburger and fries, they were typical diner food but offered great value for the portion size.

These are some of the best donuts you can find, especially on this side of Brooklyn. The donuts are made fresh every day in the early afternoon, so if you visit later in the day, you might find the selection quite limited or even out of stock. In addition to the donuts, they also offer a selection of reasonably priced food at the counter, which has a charming old luncheonette vibe.

This classic donut shop offers counter service and delivers simple, fresh, and delicious donuts for just $1 each. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the donuts tasted as if they had just been made an hour earlier. The vanilla frosted donut was definitely the highlight of my visit.
