My sister, mom and I stopped in during our road trip through Clarksdale. The owner was extremely friendly and the food was delicious; the best pulled pork I’ve ever had. We all enjoyed our meals which included the black bean burger, cabbage and sausage side dish, corn bread, fries, chicken tenders and the pulled pork sandwich.
Like many cafes in Clarksdale, this establishment is not high-end; it offers simple food that you typically wouldn't find in larger cities like New York and San Francisco. Depending on the weather, you can enjoy a nice outdoor BBQ.
I visited Clarksdale in April for the Juke Joint Festival, and we stumbled upon a chef grilling up a storm on a massive wood-fired grill. Barbecue and blues truly capture the essence of Clarksdale. The bistro might not look like much at first glance, but it’s clean, and you really can’t go wrong with any of the menu options. We tried the ribs and rib tips, and while the cook kept the secret ingredients of the baked beans to himself, I can honestly say I’ve never tasted anything like them before. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the festival atmosphere. The menu is extensive, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, weather permitting.
They quickly establish their reputation. If you have the chance, definitely try the tips. The ribs are great too, but the tips are the standout dish.
