Tacos Tio Froy - Clearlake

This review is focused on the North Long Beach location, which shares the same owner as the previous spot. These tacos are truly the best in the area. They were originally set up in front of the Big Saver grocery store (on Artesia and Orange) for quite some time until they were unexpectedly asked to relocate by the city. Nevertheless, they moved just a few feet away, and their Al Pastor, Birria, and Chicharrón en Salsa Verde are outstanding. The Asada tacos are also delicious, and their handmade tortillas make a significant difference. They are especially renowned for their Birria and consomé. While the tacos can be a bit pricey at $2 each—especially since the tortillas are small—it’s worth it for the incredible flavor. Definitely give them a try; they’re the best in the area!

The fish and seafood dishes are incredibly flavorful and expertly prepared. However, the tables were not clean, with tablecloths showing stains from previous customers. Additionally, there's no Wi-Fi available.

Handmade tacos with enormous tortillas! This food truck is located in Compton along the westbound side of Compton Blvd, past Atlantic. The handmade tortilla tacos are quite large, and two are likely more than enough. They offer a good variety of salsas, but unfortunately, they all seem to lack heat and flavor. The toppings could also be improved. On a positive note, the horchata was really tasty, and they serve authentic Mexican Coke in bottles. However, given that this area has many taco stands and trucks, I would likely choose to explore other options before returning here. Honestly, I think Tacos El Sapo in East LA is much better. It’s worth checking out other spots and stands in the area as well.
