Írjon visszajelzéstI took an American friend to this restaurant to try poutine, but it was quite a letdown. The dish was served in a ridiculously narrow boat-shaped container, making it difficult to eat without spilling food everywhere. There was only a tiny amount of cheese at the bottom, and you had to dig through a lot of mediocre fries just to find it. The gravy was equally uninspiring. In the end, we spent around $20 for what amounted to just a heap of fries. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't around long enough for me to take him to my go-to spot that serves authentic poutine. I chose Café Central because we were in Coaticook and I remembered having a great poutine there before. It's clear that whoever decided to change the recipe really missed the mark. I won't be returning. The service was decent, though.
The poutine here is excellent! However, it would be nice if the family-sized portion were a bit larger. It feels like it's more comparable to a regular or large size at other places. It’s great for takeout or delivery.
Traditional Québec diner with excellent poutine and burgers.
This is my favorite breakfast spot in town. The prices are great, and the service is always friendly. It’s a true taste of Canada!
Here’s a fun little story: While I was driving my girlfriend and me to this café for dinner, she jokingly pointed at Cafe Central and said, "I hope that's not where we're eating." Sorry about that! The fish and chips were amazing, accompanied by a tasty coleslaw. The water, however, had that classic tap water taste. Overall, it was a delightful meal at a cozy, bustling café.
