Dom Espeto - Coimbra

We were recommended this place by the hotel we were staying at as we asked for a traditional local restaurant. We tried the kebab for two and it was nothing short of delicious, the 6 small dishes we had as an accompaniment was perfect to go with a deconstructed kebab hung from the table. It was indeed so nice that we said we'd come back. And we did, the next day. We both had the baccalau but prepared in different ways. And both again were excellent. The manager was incredibly friendly and staff were really helpful as well, and I don't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others.

For the price, the value, the quality, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff, this one's a smash hit. The place is full of locals and the skewers hang from special hook racks placed in the center of tables. Get the house specialty the Dom Espeto. Come hungry, get a bottle of local wine and be prepared to spend time eating and enjoying.

Fantastic food, exceptional value and great service. We arrived shortly after the opening and after the order, the place was full. Obviously a very popular place with good reason. Can not damage food, value or service. All extraordinary and a great find for us while we wandered through Coimbra.
