Wongs - Colchester

I have been dining at Wongs for over 30 years, initially with Tim and now with Tom. The food is delicious and always prepared promptly. Tom immediately recognizes me when I greet him. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is consistently polite over the phone and in person, and the food is exceptional, especially the Aromatic Crispy Duck. We highly suggest trying the Satay King Prawn and the Szechuan Chicken. While they do not offer delivery and only accept cash, their convenient location in Tiptree near cashpoints makes it easily accessible for us.

I always enjoy the delicious food at this restaurant and appreciate that they can accommodate gluten-free options. Even though I have moved out of Tiptree, I still make a special trip on my way home to pick up food from here.

Having lived in Tiptree for just the past five years i highly recommend a takeaway from mr Wong’s. The food is always amazing, they never mess up the order and the owner always has a smile on his face. He recognises the regulars too by name which I find to be a nice touch xxx great food, fast service no longer than ten minutes usually and value for money. Never disappointed. Whenever we have friends over they insist we order from there.

I have used this take away before, when my partner was alive it was his favourite. So as I was late coming home last night I called in and ordered a real treat ... or so I thought ... The mushroom Chow Mein had two very large mushrooms some bean sprouts and a load of carrots in what I can only describe at a rehashed leftover sweet and sour sauce. I also ordered a King prawn Foo Yung it was greasy and burnt in places ... Also, the portion sizes have been so reduced ... it uses to be that we would buy several dishes and share them ... you cannot do that now ... So very disappointed ... can no longer recommend nor will I be going there again Service was polite and very quick ... but it was a Wednesday and no one else was in there.
