Main Street Seafood - Columbia

You'll find tastier seafood at McDonald's. The décor in the restaurant is nice. There's a ceiling light made out of a wooden palette and jars that looked like something you'd find on Pinterest. The walls had decorations that reflected a love of seafood and New Orleans, which gave the restaurant a fun, local feel. That's about all this place has going for it. I was with a group of six other people. We were the only customers in the entire restaurant, and I can see why. The service was nonexistent. There were two people on staff at the time: the waitress and the cook. The waitress didn't check up on us. We had to wait for her to emerge from the kitchen and then call her over whenever we needed something. She never once asked us if we would like refills on our drinks; we had to ask her. The refills she served us were warm, so we had to ask for more ice. One friend and I could see a small window into the kitchen, from where we were seated. Both of us could see the cook was preparing the food without gloves. We also noticed that the cook and the waitress were eating fries in the kitchen while preparing the food. I ordered the seafood platter (catfish, oysters, shrimp) with a side of fries. The food tasted like it had been prepacked, pulled out of a freezer and forgotten in the oven. Everything tasted overcooked, over-fried, and too heavily breaded. The shrimp was the only thing that didn't taste too dry, only because it was too oily. It was unappetizing to look at and just as unpleasant to eat. The fries were overcooked and dry, with no flavor or crisp to them. You could snap them in half as if they were crackers. My friend ordered the same meal, but chose a side of mac and cheese instead of fries. When the server brought the plates out, it was immediately clear that the cook used a box of Kraft macaroni. The cook couldn't even be bothered to make the macaroni look appetizing; it looked dry and old like it had been taken out of a college dorm room. For dessert, my friend and I decided to take a risk and order the crème brûlée. Again, very disappointing. The caramelized layer on top of mine didn't crack when I hit it with my spoon--it bent. The bottom layer of the cream was as cold as my drink should have been. This was a very disappointing experience. The prices were way too high for the quality of food and service received. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Unfortunately, Mitch and Christy, the owners and executive chefs, have had to sell their brick-and-mortar location, but they are continuing their culinary adventure with a food truck business. The creativity of their menu is impressive! The zydeco burger is definitely a must-try; however, we did experience some delays while waiting for our food. Hopefully, their new venture will resolve those issues! Best of luck to you both! We’ll definitely come back for another burger!

Been there, eat that, and got the happy wife to prove it! Sweet tea... check Great burger...check Fried fish done right...check Great wait staff....check I've been living in South Louisiana for about 6 years now. Mss compares with all the great restaurants I frequent in Cajun country.

Went yesterday me and husband got the seafood plate that comes with frog legs ,fish, shrimp and one side I got bake potato and he got fries . The bake potato was not done I couldn't break it a part an enjoy it yes told waiter and all she said I will tell her ???? never got another one that was done or offer another one. fISH could not eat it because the oil it was cooked in was bad!!! It was old oil that's been used for awhile it made the fish taste burnt with a bad taste with it told the waiter about that also only got e changed the oil this morning hmm ok explain the taste of it and if true how did it start to taste that way by 11:00 being not open very long. ? Waiter did nothing to fix it to make us happy. We paid over $50.00 for our meals and only ate a salad out of all of it. That's bad business. Will never go back their again! Very sad......

Best food ever! Cheap Buffet! Fast Friendly Service! The owners are God sent!
