Pitas - Columbia

I stumbled across this restaurant in downtown Columbia recently. I noticed the crowded parking lot at lunchtime. This is authentic Mediterranean food. A family owned restaurant. EVERYTHING is made from scratch, even the pita bread. They use savoryfresh spices. Very reasonable affordable options and large serving sizes. Great vegan and vegetarian options. I had hummus anddelicious homemade, water based lentil soup. They were recently recognized in the Free Times "Best of Columbia list. Hours are11 a.m. 3 p.m. Mondays Fridays. Recommend you get there early. A robust lunch crowd. Great service. I ordered takeout, and thestaff person patiently answered my questions about the ingredients in the dishes, and how the dishes were prepared. A hidden gemin Columbia in the midst of many Mediterranean food chains.

Stumbled upon this place by accident and boy am I happy we did. Great food and even better service. I can't wait to go back.

The food from the regular menu is consistently excellent! The daily specials, which vary each day, are also quite fantastic. You can't go wrong with the Copycat or any of the platters from the main menu. The specials are so delicious that I can't pick a favorite! Additionally, the sweet potato fries and potato salad are really tasty!

I ordered the Monday special: the Mezza Plate, which came with pita, hummus, grilled scallions, olives, garlic cloves, and a small salad. It was light and refreshing, with great flavors, although I expected a larger portion. Still, it was delicious! For dessert, I sampled two of their baklavas: one with pistachio and the other with walnut. They were beautifully glazed with honey and tasted fantastic! The waitress was very kind, and I appreciated the complimentary military discount. I would definitely return to try more items!

A great option for delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The service was outstanding, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area, and I will definitely be back.
