Sycamore - Columbia

I wish I had taken the server's advice regarding the food. He recommended against the Gnocchi (as a vegetarian, my options were limited). Unfortunately, it wasn't very impressive – too mushy and chewy, and lacking in flavor. On a positive note, the appetizers and my partner's salmon were excellent.

I dined there last night and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant has a charming atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was fantastic. I ordered the halibut with chili crisp, and it was outstanding. My companions tried the Parmesan fries, Chris's hot chicken sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, and posole, and they all raved about their meals. One friend mentioned that the hot chicken sandwich packed quite a punch—definitely not for the faint of heart, but great if you enjoy spicy food!

For drinks, I ordered the Rose Garden and the Hannah May, both of which were absolutely wonderful. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the body of the drinks was just right—so good that if I lived closer, I would definitely return just for the drink menu! For my entrée, I had the scallops with roasted peanuts and noodles. This was my first time trying scallops, so I had low expectations, but they were incredible! I seriously considered ordering another plate just for the scallops! The roasted peanuts and spices added the perfect crunch on top. I would definitely come back here—what a fantastic place to eat and drink!

The ambience is wonderful for a group dinner and the food was absolutely delicious. This was my second time at sycamore and the food and drinks did not disappoint. We had the fried oysters and beet salad as appetizers which were both very good. My husbandordered the scallops which were cooked perfectly and the flavors were amazing. We also ordered the ribeye, pork chop, andgnocchi. Everything was superb. Would definitely recommend for a great dinner and evening out in Columbia.

Lovely atmosphere, great service and pretty good food. My chicken sandwich was huge and cooked very well. Appetizers were good and the fries were perfect. Wife says the ice cream was too boozy though (that's a her thing though) and we both thought theapples were undercooked. Overall a nice meal.
