Alfonso's - Conroe

The new management and owners have really breathed new life into this long-established restaurant. The food arrives quickly and is served hot. The pork carnitas are exceptional, the bean soup is spot on, and the guacamole is perfectly seasoned. You truly feel at home in this place. If you haven't visited in a while, I strongly suggest coming back to see the improvements.

I took my daughter to an incredible Mexican restaurant and was truly impressed. Unlike typical chain eateries that rely on frozen and pre-packaged items, this gem makes everything fresh and from scratch. The flavors were outstanding, and the portion sizes were just perfect. My daughter loved the flautas while I enjoyed the chimichanga—both dishes were expertly prepared and packed with flavor. The staff was professional and attentive, and the owner came by personally to check on our satisfaction. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!

We sampled the fried calamari and jalapeño poppers, both of which were exceptional. We also ordered jumbo margaritas—one frozen and the other on the rocks—and they were fantastic. Our server was wonderful, and the restaurant had a clean and inviting atmosphere. My friends and I are definitely looking forward to returning!

I recently visited Alfonso’s with a craving for burritos and they did not disappoint. I had a chicken burrito. Every ingredient was fresh and the tortilla was perfectly toasted on the grill. I wouldn’t get a burrito anywhere else. Felt like grandma was in the kitchen cooking.

Waitress very nice helpful in explaining menu to us. It was a slow day but she made sure we had everything we needed. Food was delicious! Beer was super cold ,very important ! Oysters were fresh!
