Vernon's Kuntry Katfish - Conroe

This place is never a disappointment. Food is always fresh. The service is great. I live in Spring Branch, about 45 minutes away, worth the ride. Go!

Bring your Tums. There is a lot of fat in the frit and on the menu! And parts are Texas size. But if you enjoy crispy catfish, this is the place. The highlight is its fresh salad and freshly cut pommes. The catfish is fresh, possibly as fresh as possible! But it's very baked. My first bite was a bit overwhelming. Okra is baked at home, not frozen, but I can't say the same for the hush puppies. Plates come stacked and hush puppies are never ending.

We 've been wanting to try this place for years and finally made time for Mother 's Day. The staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The prices seemed fair for the large portions. The food was very good. The fried shrimp, country fries, tots, green beans, fried okra, and shrimp tacos all received great reviews at our table. The fried oysters, chicken fried steak, and frog legs were all considered okay . The frog legs could use a little more spice in the breading but they definitely aren 't bad. Most of us will return again to try more items on their menu.

Great food from a friendly place. Loved everything and Karli took care of our large group of 14 fearlessly. Already looking forward to returning. Great job!
