El Tapatio On Jefferson - Cookeville

I have eaten at El Tapatio since the day they opened for business. I was in junior high then and I 'm 37 now. I obviously like their food! Does that mean they are the best and most authentic Mexican food in the world? No, but I still enjoy it. We have our own server who waits on us almost every time we go in. He is so nice! All of the staff are nice though.Today, I had the Taco Loco and a tip I learned a few years ago is to ask for the chicken 'fajita style '. That way the chicken is guaranteed to be cooked fresh and hot versus the shredded chicken. My meal was hot and good. My mom got the Fajita Taco Salad, and she said hers was hot and good as well. Something a lot of people don 't know about with Mexican restaurants is their desserts. You seriously need to order their Flan! We get it often and had one to split today. It is a baked custard with a caramel sauce. It 's so good!

Pleasantly surprised to find a great Mexican restaurant while passing through the area. Yummy! Great service too.

Not to Miss. The best Mexican restaurant in Cookeville, always stop here when passing through. Price is right, service exceptional, food very good. Try the Chili Rellenos.

We went there on a Sunday afternoon for lunch time. And of course it was busy, but we got seated quick and service was good. The food was really good. I had the steak chimichanga, which was awesome. I loved it. For me. The rice was a little spicy, but that's just me., the other plate is tacos, and I forgot what the other thing was my child had but he really enjoyed the right so I gave him my rice. . I would definitely go here again if I wasn't Cookeville. And we're glad we went there.

El Tapatio is touted to be one of nicest Mexican food places in Cookeville. We paid our due visit to this place one fine evening. It is quite big and has a nice vibe to it. We were shown to our table and we got down to ordering.<br/ <br/ They start you off with nachos. For drinks we had a Coke and a Frozen Margarita. The Frozen Margarita was delicious! I love quesadillas! Rightly spiced filled with cheese and just a little crunchy on the outside. Being a mushroom lover, I thought Mushroom Quesadilla was just the thing for me. But, sadly it was not as tasty as I expected it to be. My friend ordered a chicken dish and was happy with her order. <br/ <br/ The place is reasonably priced and has very friendly staff. I will definitely go back and try something which will appeal my palate. Yes, I believe in giving places second chances!
