Írjon visszajelzéstThe only place for Sushi in Coolangatta for me, the others are just for kids. Fresh is always the prime objective here, staff are happy to be there and are always willing to care for your needs. I have been dining here at lunch for year's now. It only cost a little extra for quality when looking for Sushi in Coolangatta so if that's what you are looking for this is the place for you.
Friendly staff but very average food. Overpriced too. sashimi wasn't very fresh, gyoza were tasteless, Karage was more like Korean fried chicken. wouldn't go back.
I'm going to give this place 2 stars because it wasn't inedible.. it just wasn't good.it probably deserves 2.5 stars. The service was good and the waitresses were really attentive but I think for the price it was a massive let down. The miso soup was good. The beef tataki was prepared earlier and my partner said it had a roast beef taste to it. The edges were cooked but raw in the middle and cold. Fridge cold. We shared the prawn and vegetable gyoza which tasted like the pastry was stale or suffered some serious freezer burn before being fried. The inside was a bit mushy. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good had no crunch or crispy to it. I had the Teppan which is tofu and vegetables in a sizzling plate. It came out sizzling and 2 of the tofu pieces were soft and nice and the other 2 were a bit hard and dense. Flavour was acceptable. Way too much onion and not enough other vegetables. My partner had the teriyaki chicken which had large chunks of chicken.. cooked well enough.. the pieces were large so there wasn't enough marinade to go and it was more chicken to marinade ratio... Both our rices came out tepid almost cold instead of hot so I don't think it was fresh. Some of the rice chunks were hard. I think especially at any kind of Asian restaurant. The one thing that should be excellent is the rice and it wasn't. Actually that's probably a good way to describe the evening... it just felt not fresh and I think for a $70 dinner for two, no drinks. The meals should be at least that. We didn't order from the train just the set menus. I definitely won't be coming back and if you come from Melbourne where the Jap food is pretty much always good and at this price point great... be prepared to be let down!
Service was average as I had to walk up for assistance. They did not see me wave at them for 5 mins while they were leaning against a pillar and talked amongst themselves. When they did serve, they were fine and helpful. Sushi off the train/belt was good, but less than great. Chicken Teriyaki was amazing! However, we waked away disappointed as the sliced beef that was part of a noodle dish was far from fresh. My wife said that while walking back to the unit, she had the on-the-verge aftertaste. The sort that if you smell on meat in your fridge and you ask will this be ok in a vindaloo .... Seems a shame and I feel they could easily do better.
Lots of alfresco seating which is great, being beachside and all. Friendly staff, a good variety of menu items plus sushi train. Japanese beers, plum wine, sake and some interesting flavours of iced tea e.g. Feijoa and lime blossom, and fresh, delicious food! Had a wonderful dinner here with my other half while on holidays.
