Cooma Truckstop Restaurant

Well it's a truckstop so don't expect some fancy food here. They serve really basic food options but they are very well priced and the portions are massive. My mate ordered the $23 rump steak which turned out to be the biggest chunk of steak he has eaten so far - it would've been enough to serve 3 people. The taste itself wasn't too bad and just OK really but then again its a truckstop not a Michelin-starred restaurant so I was completely fine with it. The lady at the cashier also served us politely.Note: Apple maps won't show the right location for this restaurant but Google maps will. I had heard good things about this truck stop so decided to give it a go. The building, from the outside, is quite unique. A real ski lodge appearance. Inside lacks a little but the open fire makes up for it, especially when it's cold and raining outside. On the menu was milk coffee by the pot. This took me back to my childhood, before cappuccinos and the like. Coffee made on milk was a treat only found in truckstops, served in stainless steel pots. It perhaps tasted better in my memories I think but that's most likely because I'm used to a stronger coffee these days. It was lovely and hot and there was enough for 2 mugs in a small pot for about $6.50 I think it was. To eat, we only had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich each. Hard to judge a place by this but they were OK.My only other comment is that if you want to pay using Eftpos you have to walk next door to the perrol station to pay. That's a little odd in this day and age.They do provide newspapers to read.I would like to go back and try a meal.

We were running towards Merimbula from Wagga,could not find anywhere to put our 10 mtr motorhome for the night.Upon entering Cooma,saw a sign for R.V rest stop.When we arrived at truck stop they were very kind and allowed us to park along one side of the parking bay..We had dinner at the restaurant on site, fabulous meal, very reasonably priced,and friendly staff. Anyone going through should drop in and check the place out..

This is a truck stop, so the food is rather basic, but it is very good, and plenty of it. Just what busy truckies or those travelling through are looking for. The place is always clean, the service is friendly.

So good to see those poor dogs are no longer caged up and have been removed from the premises. If that's how you love animals you will never again have my custom. Food was good, lady behind the counter was not.
