We have been dining at this restaurant for 22 years, but due to Covid and other reasons, we haven't been in the last four years. Tonight, the St Keverne silver band was playing live, so we arrived at 5pm to secure a table. The restaurant has not changed at all, with its charming rustic courtyard and outbuildings, as well as the Croust House. It was nice to see that camping is now allowed on the premises. The pizzas were excellent, although one would have been enough for two of us, especially with the tasty chips. Two members of our group ordered the £35 steak, which was nearly a kilo of the most tender beef they had ever tasted and well worth the money. The portion was generous, including spare ribs. The band put on a fantastic performance, making it a lovely evening. However, it should be noted that the St Keverne band is extremely loud with about 25 members, which some dogs, including mine, found overwhelming with all the cymbals and drums. Despite this, we enjoyed the evening, but next time I will leave my dog at home. There is a delightful walk through ponds with ducks and seating areas where one can spend a relaxing day outdoors. The staff is very friendly, and we absolutely love this place. It is also wheelchair accessible.
Having seen the Roskilly name around, I’d expected this to be a big corporate style venue however we were very pleasantly surprised. This feels like a lovely family farm. We had a pizza and burger which were both delicious. We are on the garden/terrace area which was a lovely place to sit with an outdoor bar, we then had a wander around the farm which was lovely followed by an ice cream. The fudge is delicious!
We visited Roskillys for the second time and it certainly won't be our last. Their ice cream is absolutely delicious, especially on a hot day. I am already looking forward to coming back when we visit Cornwall again.
The restaurant offers a fantastic variety of flavors using milk and cream produced right on the farm. While it's a bit of a trek up from Coverack, the trip is definitely worth it. They also have an outdoor seating area where dogs are allowed.
