My go-to order at a barbecue place is always a pulled pork sandwich, so that's what I chose. I did get a bit apprehensive when she described the pork as both pulled and slightly chopped (I’m not a fan of chopped), but our appetizer of pork nachos quickly eased my worries. The nachos featured tri-colored tortilla chips smothered in nacho cheese, tender pulled pork, and a perfectly balanced barbecue sauce that was sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of spicy—her husband’s recipe—along with freshly sliced jalapeños. My husband ordered the bratwursts, slaw, and fries. The sausage was flavorful and juicy, just what you want. My pulled pork sandwich was piled high with tender, moist pork, served alongside freshly shredded slaw and hot, crispy fries. Everything was at the perfect temperature, seasoned beautifully, and absolutely delicious! The portions were incredibly generous; I had enough pork and slaw leftover to take for lunch at work tonight. The service was spot on, too. We were checked on just the right amount, my tea was refilled, and the table was cleared when needed. We will definitely be returning for a date night to try the ribeye steak!
