Georgie's Mediterranean - Covina

I’ve had Georgie’s bookmarked for a while and finally had the chance to visit with my sister. Since they cook the food as you order, it takes a few minutes to get it. We went at around lunch time so it was kind of busy plus they also do phone/online orders. My sister ordered the Beef Shawarma plate $15.99 with a side of Baba Ghanouj and Potato Salad while I chose the Kefta Kabab $14.99 with Mediterranean Salad and Grape Leaves. Both plates came with fluffy rice and Garlic Sauce. We also ordered 2-pc Pistachio Baklava $4.98 and 2pc Walnut Baklava $4.98. Food was 4 stars. I loved the beef shawarma and while the Kefta Kabob was good, I’ve had better. All in all 4 stars for the dining experience.

Too expensive for the portions and its take out! 17 bucks for a chicken kabob plate that was mainly veggies w 4 little chicken pieces! Oh plus 2 bucks for a water bottle! The food was good but not for the price! Nope.

Food was super tasty and didn't take that long to come out. We will definitely be back! Got the lamb kabob, hummus, and Mediterranean salad.

Saw this Mediterranean restaurant and thought we should give it a try. My husband ordered the plate lamb kabab and I had the chicken kabab. To our dismay and disappointment, their lamb and chicken were tough, hard to chew! We’ve gone to several Mediterranean eateries here in Glendora and this place doesn’t come any close to the other places around. The smell of cigarette was awful, too. It could have been someone was smoking cigs by their back door and the disgusting smell of cigarette was probably coming though their a/c system into the dining area! This place could have been a good one, BUT.

I 'm gonna give it a 1 star because the food is great but the wait time needs exponential improvement. I get and agree with their mojo about great food takes time to prepare. My problem with them is that they lied to you about the wait time on phone orders by saying 25 to 30 min and when you get there 25 minutes after they say it 's gonna be another 10 minutes and I say ok only for them to come back 7 mins after and say if I want to substitute the rice for other side. I say no to the cashier she then goes to talk to the cook and they have a silent discussion. 5 minutes after they come and say another 7 minutes. Yes, this actually happened, it was uncomfortable and ridiculous. I decided to cancel the order and the cashier seems a bit dumbfounded that I actually asked for a refund. Another gentleman was there before and commented to me that it 's taking forever . The cashier tried to get him to substitute rice for something else as well I speculate that they stop making rice at one point in the night and try to convince people to sub sides. As customers, Georgies owes us the courtesy of being factual about the wait time and tell us if rice is even available to begin with before we pay.
