I want to start by saying how much I love the Hot Dog Shoppe. My husband and I originally hail from Pennsylvania, where this restaurant originated. While the food is generally good—we’ve enjoyed it several times as a family—yesterday’s experience was disappointing. A woman was rude to my husband regarding a large order we placed for our family of five, which unfortunately got messed up. The portion sizes of chili and cheese on the fries and hot dogs were hardly adequate. The Pittsburgh sandwich was decent, but I felt that some of the chili that ended up on my burger could have been better utilized on the fries and hot dogs we had ordered. I’m not sure if the woman was frustrated by the size of our order or what, but her attitude was unacceptable. I may consider returning, but if she’s working there, it’s a deal breaker for me.
I ordered a fully loaded hamburger, and my friend got the Chicago dog. My burger was delicious, and Eddie really liked his hot dog too! We’re definitely coming back!
This restaurant is a hidden gem in Crestview. It's a hot dog spot run by some quirky folks from the North who really know their hot dogs. If you know, you know! I always make it a point to come here whenever I visit family in the area.
This is a hole in the wall decoration! Food is delivered quite fast and hot and ready! This place is a little on the high side for prices, over neck and neck with McQuires. We were a little back with the price against how much of the appetizers we have $6 for four cheese sticks) but we can say that they were made near perfection! with our entree was the taste of this world! I personally got the Buffalo frits, and they only had enough sauce to be hot, but not enough to burn you! All in all, I would definitely visit this place. It is literally a small hole in the wall and a bit north of everywhere to travel, but it is worth it!
