This is such a fun little hole in the wall restaurant. The foods and drinks are always so good! Well worth the drive from Bloomington
Enjoyed a beautiful evening there. Hubby had classic burger and fries. I had bourbon sliders and sweet potato fries. All were delicious and service was friendly and fast considering it was very busy on a Saturday evening. The sauce/butter they serve with the sweet potato fries was exceptional. Excellent experience and atmosphere. We must go back to try a shipwreck shake.
It 's a bit off the beaten path but it 's absolutely worth the trip. We were attracted here because of the viral Facebook posts of their shipwrecked shakes. We were very pleasantly surprised by the food, atmosphere and the service. Our server, Rhonda was a delight. Very fun and attentive. She recommended the frosted cookie coffee as a warmup and we loved it. The Kuchie Burger is an inspired combination of flavors and is served on a fresh ciabatta bun. Get yours toasted for an extra crunch. The Shipwrecked Shakes are works of art and I almost cried at the thought of having to take it apart. I regret nothing, however, as it was absolutely delicious. If Kuchie 's isn 't already a destination restaurant, it absolutely should be.
Above average food (but not amazing), above average price, great view of the river, great menu! The only restaurant in Peoria area with its own dock for boats. Unless you dock downtown and go for a short walk. We walked in, got seated on the deck, waited 15-20 minutes (no exaggeration) before a waitress acknowledged our existence. Actually had to ask another tables server if we could get some service. After that, everything was good. Hostess was rude, servers were friendly though! I had a buffalo mac n cheese sandwich, delicious, would get it again! Also shared an Oreo shake (can’t remember the clever name it’s called on the menu) and they’ve got several flavor variations of those, it was absolutely amazing! Be careful when tying up, the current is strong through here and I’d say half or more of boats don’t slow down for a courtesy no wake pass so make sure to have plenty of fenders out. All in all I recommend stopping here whether by boat or car for great food and drinks! Would definitely give the sub-par service a second chance, s happens, no biggie.
