Covadonga - Cuauhtémoc

We had read about covadonga, and about authentic cantinas in general, in numerous articles about hipster mexico city. it was a Saturday night, and since we had a short walk in juarez and wanted to observe the end of the football game, we... although we would try. forget to see the game, the tvs are like the old school than anything else. there was a small television high on a column near our table, but it was blurry and there was no loudness. we were just in a restaurant with high quality tvs and the contrast to these beaten vintage sets was dramatic. What can I say about the room? the rough radiant lighting gives everything and each one a sick green palate. there are no smoking allowed inside, but groups smoking on the way out and smoke was blown through the side windows. the odor of smiling was exaggerated. I would not eat in this smokey environment, although we saw that food is delivered to tables. the waiter seemed angry and were just cranky. I think that failing is part of their job description. Yeah, there were hipsters next to old men. there was also a private birthday party in the back room, so we were blown up with the sound of hits. I drank beer. I also tried a shot mezcal. I didn't know what to order, but what I got was related to turpentine. it tasted more like bad tequila (maybe there was no smokey mezcal taste). my only mezcal fails in weeks in the center of mexiko. an interesting function, they have small side tables that they play alongside the tables of men dominos to store their mix and other drinks. I thought that was a good idea. I can now say that we were here and did that. Maybe this would be fun with a group for boozy and campy good time, but it was a leave for a few alone, especially that you just wanted to watch the game on TV.

Español hasta las cachas, tradicional restaurante con abundantes platillos a precios muy razonables. Excelente lugar; sardinas a la portuguesa, paella, fabada, tortilla a la española, croquetas de jamón serrano, todo una delicia.
