Meson Darling - Cuenca

I have just visited Meson Darling with my Spanish friends. From the outside it just looks like a typical Spanish bar in Cuenca. However, as soon as you step inside there is a lovely atmosphere, a seated dining area or seats around the bar if you prefer. The free tapas with a drink is excellent and varied, the variety of food on offer is varied, tasty, and really good quality. The specialities of Cuenca are delicious, I particularly recommend the morteruela which was superb. Forget the more expensive restaurants in the old town catering for foreign tourists, give this place a try, you won't regret it! The wine is also great value!

We went there on advice of the owner of the apartments in which we stayed. And we really enjoyed the food, but we should go back to try other plates. We took a salad, gazpacho del pastor, and although the later looks like an omelette, it's much more than that!

Real comfort food served in atmospheric surroundings. Worth finding and certainly value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful

Raciones generosas a muy buen precio. El trato del camarero más joven es un poco seco, pero al menos va rápido. Al ser martes no teníamos ningún problema para encontrar una mesa libre, pero estaba llena de inmediato, así que mejor llamar primero.
