Stewart House - Dalhousie

This place is absolutely charming! It can be a bit tricky to locate if you're not familiar with Dalhousie, but Google Maps will guide you right. It's a lovely little bed and breakfast. I've had lunch here for work, and the menu was solid overall, but the seafood linguini was exceptional. While it’s more suitable for larger groups rather than just one or two diners, if you're coming with family or colleagues, the atmosphere and the ballroom are stunning, and the food is top-notch!

The place was very clean, and I had a great night's sleep. There was a wedding taking place during my stay, and I had originally booked a room with a sea view. However, I was given a different room instead. I didn't feel comfortable enough to insist on the original room, but it would have been wonderful to enjoy the sea view, especially since I traveled quite a distance to be there. Overall, if I lived nearby, I would consider having my wedding there too!

It's probably one of the prettiest and biggest house I've ever been in! The owners really have nice tastes when it comes to decorations and beautiful rustic color schemes. The backyard is also something that I really liked, with such a nice view of the sea. Perfect for a calm and peaceful reading session!While the lady was really nice and courteous, she gave us a pretty quick tour that consisted of our room and the bathroom area before disappearing. We then had to resort in exploring on our own(again, it was a pretty big house . Something I really didn't like was...the bathrooms. They were, of course, pretty looking, but the fact that the toilet was in the same room as the common showers (and right on the side of the door, so erm...everyone could easily hear you was far from fun for me. I was also really disappointed with the included breakfast the next morning. For the price, and the fact that the place doubles as a restaurant on reservations, we thought we would get something decent cooked by the owners( like eggs or something like that? . But nope, we got bread, small packaged cups of strawberry jam or peanut butter, green bananas, and some kind of dry packaged cake you could grab on a table. Frankly, the only thing decent was the coffee. Would I recommend this place? Depends, really. I would say yes if you need a quick place to sleep for 1 night, without much expectations. A small plus; Dogs seems to also be accepted.

We attended a wedding at Stewart House recently. While we didn’t stay overnight, several family members did, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of our week. The view of the water was stunning, and the gardens and property were beautifully maintained. Dawn, the staff member we encountered, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The house had a cozy atmosphere that made it feel just like home. I would highly recommend Stewart House to anyone visiting the area.
