Peach cobbler was really good as well. Highly recommend coming here with your friends and getting a little bit of everything.
Really top notch BBQ! The sandwich pictured is the pit master with mac and cheese. The 3 meat plate was pork rib, smoked jalapeno and cheddar sausage, and brisket. All of it was amazing. I will say that the sausage really stood out but everything was juicy, tender, and delicious. Also the Mac and cheese is a must! Next time I'm in Dallas, I will be back!
I think we just found heaven! Worth the wait! Perfect smoke, spice and atmosphere! Them deep fried ribs were outta this world! Go early if you want to have full selection of the menu, the ribs sell out about 6:00. But there's so much to drool over
Since Terry Black and Pecan Lodge are so close and they are both popular with high review scores, I decided to order from both places and compare them side by side. Brisket: about the same. However Terry Black will ask for your preferred cut of meat (lean/fatty). Ribs: I like Terry Black more but that 's a personal reference. They are both tender and well seasoned but Terry Black probably used more brown sugar which makes their ribs a little sweeter compared to Pecan Lodge. Also Terry Black 's ribs are 'meatier '. Regular Sausage: Pecan Lodge is a win. Sausage at Terry Black tastes very plain compared to the sausage at Pecan Lodge, which has a smoky and black peppery flavor. Sauce: TB didn 't give me any sauce (I ordered to go). So I couldn 't compare but I don 't like the runny sauce at Pecan Lodge. Price: Terry Black is a little expensive. Specials: Fried rib at Pecan Lodge is something you probably don 't want to miss if you like fried food. Conclusion: if you like your ribs sweeter or want your food fast, go to Terry Black. If you want to save some money or want to binge on hot links, and don 't mind waiting for 20 minutes in line, Pecan Lodge is the place for you.
The food was delightful! I find that BBQ tends to be overpriced overall, as many places taste quite similar. However, Pecan Lodge stood out with its unique flavors, which were a pleasant surprise. I do expect better seating options given the price point; I wouldn’t have a chair in that condition in my own dining room. Everything else was fantastic, though. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive!
