The food is incredibly tasty, and I believe they have a special sauce that really enhances the flavors. I usually order the shrimp lo mein and shrimp with broccoli, both of which I enjoy. The egg rolls are massive and absolutely delicious. While it can be a bit pricey, with meals typically costing between $13 and $15 each, you can feed your entire family for around $30 to $45.
I recently stopped by this restaurant for dinner for the first time in over 40 years. Yes, you read that right! They’ve been around since 1958. My family used to come here when we lived in Dallas, and I especially remember the amazing egg rolls. They’re just as delicious as I remembered! The food is excellent, but I get the feeling that takeout is more popular these days. I’m really glad I decided to visit again—it definitely scratched that nostalgic itch!
The food was quite good, but not exceptional. Lourdes and I spent the day at the nearby Dallas Arboretum and stumbled upon this restaurant, which had a full parking lot—usually a positive sign. I opted for the Chicken Chow Mein and Egg Foo Young, and I found it to be pleasant overall. However, the waitress wasn't the friendliest. Lourdes tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which she felt was just average. The rice, on the other hand, was enjoyable. The restaurant's interior looked a bit worn and could really use some renovations. On the bright side, the prices were very affordable.
Some hits and some misses. Ordered Hunan Beef which says is supposed to be very hot. They forgot to add any heat to the dish. Still tasted good. Combination sweet and sour was good, but one larger piece was a little under cooked. You can up grade any entree to a deluxe dinner for 5.95. You get your choice of a cup of soup, a puffed shrimp, egg roll, red bbq spare rib, Chinese almond cookie. Rib was a little strong pork tasting, excellent homemade egg roll, great wonton soup, puffed shrimp good. Long time family and friends owned. Want to go back and try other dishes.
Been coming here since I was 10 years old! The BEST subgum chicken chow mein, crispy egg rolls and duck sauce.
