Just as I was about to give up, a gentleman who appeared to be the manager approached and promised to send a server our way. When the server finally arrived, we placed our order, and about half an hour later, the food was served. What I received was a filet mignon priced at $71, served with absolutely nothing else on the plate—not even a sprig of parsley or a drizzle of sauce. I had ordered a side of fries to add some flair and because I was starving after skipping lunch. Unfortunately, the filet mignon was purple, chewy, cold, and completely undercooked. I felt compelled to eat it quickly, knowing that waiting another 20 minutes to get the server's attention to request a replacement was not an option, especially with a two-year-old who needed to sleep. As someone who knows how a rare filet mignon should taste—juicy, hot, and not tough—I can say this was far from it. My wife’s crab cakes were overly salty, and when I tried a bite, I could taste the cheap, salty, store-bought breadcrumbs. My daughter's chicken tenders were enormous, which was the only highlight, but it left me frustrated enough that I wished I'd taken a photo for comparison. When the bill came, which totaled over $150 before the tip for three small crab cakes, the raw steak with fries, and a giant plate of chicken tenders and fries, I couldn't believe it. I mentioned the poor quality of the steak to the server, but she simply said there was nothing she could do since I had eaten it. So here's my warning to those of you reading this review: only come here for drinks and a sunset. Don't expect attentive service, as that does not seem to be part of the experience. If you're looking for a decent meal, you might end up having an experience like mine. I was really looking forward to a great dinner during our vacation, and I wouldn’t wish this kind of experience on anyone.
My wife and I are regulars at this restaurant, drawn in by the stunning views, lovely patio, cozy fireplaces, and overall ambiance. However, the service is absolutely terrible—there's really no better way to put it. You'll find yourself waiting ages for a menu, then for a greeting, and finally to place your order. I recommend heading straight to the bar and simply enjoying the Monarch instead. Cheers!
We had an outstanding experience at 33 North, where the sunset views of the Pacific were breathtaking. Our server, Natalie, provided excellent service, and the food and drinks were all of the highest quality. Whether you're seeking a memorable dining experience or simply want to relax with a drink, I highly recommend 33 North.
It’s a great bar. But understaffed, so servers are always samurai.
This might be my favorite bar. Ryan. Ernest Benny took care of us for 3 nights while we sampled expertly crafted drinks (Chopin vodka martini was absolute perfection). This wasn't a sports bar, but we were able to enjoy the NBA playoffs (Go Denver). On Friday we also enjoyed live music with classic covers like the Eagles Springsteen. The food is amazing. My favorite was the spicy bluefin tuna. My husband's fave was the wagyu steak tartare. The bread pudding was spectacular!!They also have an excellent wine beer selection.
