Jam N Jelly Cafe - Darien

Our server was not attentive. My husband sat with no coffee for 20 minutes before he had to stand up and ask a different server for some. Then once he finished that cup it was another 20 minutes before he got a refill. My mom's food had a short black hairin it (they did take it off the bill). We didn't see the owner/manager who we used to see all the time. Maybe that's why thingsseem to have declined.

Placed an order for pickup with the time saying 20 minutes. We got there by that time and ended up waiting AN ADDITIONAL 40 MINUTES. If you?re that backlogged, set the expectation for the customers! No one would even tell us how much longer. I couldnot believe we had to wait that long for a to-go order. We could have sat down inside the restaurant in that time. Such aterrible experience at this location.

Crowded. Staff able to keep up. Nice selection for breakfast. IMO, some entrees are best in area.

Love coming here to eat breakfast and lunch. Food is great. Service is great. The owner Teddy is great. Wonderful place.

We were in the mood for crepes and decided to try this restaurant near our house for brunch. The ambiance was nice and the place was bustling with people, but unfortunately, the servers weren't very welcoming. We noticed that others who arrived after us were served first, and we had to wait a solid 10 minutes before someone acknowledged us. When a server finally approached our table, she asked if I wanted coffee, but her demeanor came off as quite rude. I agreed to the coffee thinking it was complimentary. A few minutes later, one of the friendliest servers, named Anna, came to take our order, which lifted our spirits about the place. We enjoyed the food, but the overall service felt inconsistent, and we couldn't quite understand why. At times, we felt a bit ignored. If it hadn't been for Anna's warm greeting and her genuine smile, we probably wouldn't consider returning. It's essential for all staff in the restaurant to be trained to greet customers with at least a simple smile—it really shouldn't be too difficult! Overall, it's a nice restaurant with good food, but they need to improve the service.
