Meatball Co. - Darien

I've been coming to Meatball Company many times when Italian craving strikes. Love its casual atmosphere and friendly service. The restaurant is small, but who cares if the food is good. Pasta, meatballs, and garlic bread are my usual dishes here. Try stuff on their special menu, it never disappoints me. Anything with butternut squash is always tasty. Portion is good, price is reasonable ... go grab your pasta!

This is a great place for a solid meal. They don't have a ton of options but meatballs are the name of the game anyway. We liked: Mushroom risotto. Lots of mushrooms. I love mushrooms. They should be a part of every meal. Yum. Four cheese risotto. Husband likes it. Broccoli rabe and sausage orecchiette. Pasta is cooked al dente, good balance of sausage in small pieces. Eggplant ball. It's crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. One of my favs. Spicy pork meatball. Just the right amount of spice to go with a starch. On the fence about the beef meatball. We had little pieces of bone in ours last time; hubby didn't like that but I figured it must be because they grind their own mean (I hope). Service was slow, but I think it's typical of Darien. I've yet to eat out anywhere and get great responsive service. Anyway, when we're craving risotto this is it.

Revisited Meatball Company for the first time in almost two years and was disappointed to see a change in the menu. It would be helpful to list the different kinds of meatball sauces on the menu as you previously did. Also missed the meatball sampler appetizer. Nonetheless, food was fantastic, filling, and flavorful. Great service and family friendly.

That's a spicy meatball! No really. That's what the menu said. But it wasn't so spicy. Actually a pretty tasty meatball. I got the meatball platter. Came with three meatballs (I got pork) and salad and fresh veggies. Delicious. I really enjoyed them all. A cute place and service was serviceable.

Cozy atmosphere, attentive and knowledge waitstaff, great menu and wine selection paired with meatballs galore. Indoor or outdoor seating available. We'd definitely go back! The orecchiette w/ broccoli rabe and homemade sausage was amazing. I am dairy free and was able to eat this dish no problem as it was sautéed with olive oil and garlic. Brussel sprouts with bacon and maple were delicious (also no dairy). According to the bf, the gnocchi was on par. It was mixed with a vodka cream sauce. The buffalo chicken meatballs were tasty, but beware spicy!!
