Finbar's Portland Hills - Dartmouth

I went there for lunch with some of my colleagues one Friday, and I was very pleased. Service was friendly, professional and quick, and the interior really helped, and I thought it was unique. Definitely had their own atmosphere going, it was nice. I got a classic burger and a 50/50 of salad and french fries, with a glass of Guiness stout to drink. The fries and salad were both very tasty, and the burger was phenomenal, the beer definitely complimented the meal. Highly recommended.

It was a very hot day and the ac started to leak from the ceiling on to the table next to us. They were a large party and we had just sat down, so we let the server know we'd be happy to move to allow the large table to shuffle out of the wet zone with minimal hassle. The food was fine enough, but not what we're used to from finbars. The veggies and rice with the pan fried haddock were quite bland. The beet salad was dissapointing; it was mostly a dry bowl of arugula. The shrimp tacos were fantastic and the bruschetta was good. We had a few drinks and they were fine. Our night however, was abruptly cut short when we were told that due to the issues with the a/c, the restaurant wouldn't be able to serve anything else. We did end up getting a dessert to go but we were effectively ushered out of the restaurant early. I left feeling a bit confused and short changed; we had invested a good chunk of our Friday night and had tallied up a decent bill for a small table. I was honestly surprised to find not a single item comped after being asked to leave on their terms. They even charged for the cold toffee pudding we took to go.

Our go-to restaurant. Good variety, friendly staff. Great food. Good drink selection. Reasonably priced.

Had a bunch of us go out for lunch, from 4 to 64. Service was great. The food was good. A great patio and tasty beer. Recommended.

Had a great meal and a great server here! She was very pleasant and engaging. The food was excellent and they were good portions! Would definitely visit here again for a meal or outing!
