Chapin's Fish Chips And Beach

What a delightful experience! We wanted to gather with friends on the Cape and enjoy a nice meal together. The seafood options were incredibly fresh and varied, while there were also plenty of choices for land-lovers. We took advantage of the specials and ordered a wide array of dishes. The prices were very reasonable for the Cape, and our server, Emma, was exceptionally attentive. Be sure to check out this gem in Dennis Port—you won't regret it! (Definitely ask for Emma!)

We started with mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders, both of which were delicious and fried to perfection. We also ordered steak tips for the kids, which looked fantastic, as well as a pulled pork sandwich that was both tasty and generously portioned. For adults, we enjoyed another serving of steak tips and a Cobb salad that included the standard ingredients along with some lobster and shrimp. Everything we tried was enjoyable. We chose to dine outside, so our meals were served in paper takeout style, but the restaurant offers full service. Eating outdoors with little ones was great, as it created a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. There was even a cornhole game to keep the kids entertained while the adults could unwind. Our food came out quickly, and the waitstaff was friendly; most of them were young, either in high school or college. We ended up with so much food that we had leftovers for the next day. This place is great for a quick and delicious meal. Additionally, there’s a full bar menu and a live band playing inside, making it a favorite spot for both locals and visitors.

This review is for the beach, not for the fish and chips. Chapin Beach is absolutely amazing. It's just as beautiful, if not better, than Mayflower Beach. We only spent July 3rd here because my family initially wanted to watch the sunset at Mayflower Beach. When we arrived at 6:30, the parking lot was completely full; careless drivers had parked too close to one another, making it nearly impossible to navigate the area. However, when we made our way to Chapin Beach, our excitement returned. There were plenty of parking spaces in a well-organized lot that was easy to navigate. It makes you wonder why you can't have the same convenience and comfort at Mayflower Beach's parking lot. Simply unbelievable!

Make yourself a favor and skip this restaurant. High prices for bad quality food and deorganized kitchen. I was served 20 minutes after my table. Five minutes after my meal we were asked if we wanted the check. Additionally, my order was wrong (and I was charged an additional fee that was removed after they let it know). I really wanted to like this restaurant (it has a nice atmosphere), but it's just not worth it. I felt very unpleasant and hungry. Even if you decide to go, please note that the prices on the menu are cash prices, but you pay an additional 3.95% if you are billing (even if you pay cash). You will then refund the fee after you pay. While this is not a big thing on its own, this is not written on the menu or explained by the waiter. There is a very small sign that it explains. Again, not a big deal, but feels misleading.

EXTRA CHARGES TO PAY BY CARD Went there on Saturday with several family members. Food service were average. When the waitress brought the bill we were informed that if paying by credit card there is 4% fee that the prices on menu are the cash prices. Also were informed that there is an ATM machine (which probably charges a fee) if we preferred to do the cash payment. So let 's take a look at the extra charge Massachusetts Consumer Protection. General Laws/Part 1/Title XX/ Chapter 140D/Section 28A/(2) No seller in any sales transaction may impose a surcharge on a cardholder who elects to use a credit card in lieu of payment by cash, check or similar means. A cash discount would be the way to go for attracting repeat customers and good reviews. I will not be visiting this place again.
