J J's Pizza On The Square - Denton

This is a lovely cozy pizzeria. We were tempted to stay longer, but the delicious aroma wafting from the kitchen was hard to resist. We ordered the Chicago Style Supreme Pizza, along with a Caesar salad and wings, and all three dishes were exceptional. The tables were well spaced, adding to the pleasant atmosphere.

This restaurant offers a fun, relaxed atmosphere with live music in the basement. They serve two types of pizza: New York thin crust and Chicago deep dish. The service is friendly, and you place your orders at the counter and get soft drinks from self-service fountains. While the menu is limited, it’s a great choice if you're in the mood for pizza. They also offer salads and subs, and you can order a pizza with toppings of your choice. The pizza was served quickly, and the prices are very reasonable. I would definitely return. Plus, there's a lovely view of the Hofhaus in the square!

The venue features a cellar with live music, which added to the atmosphere. Even though we opted to stay upstairs, we could still enjoy the music—it was loud enough to feel vibrant, yet soft enough to hold a conversation and relax. The building has a rich history, making it the perfect local pizza spot. Overall, it was a wonderful evening with family and delicious food.

Two. Editor: Nov. 2020: They change to a thinner crust, so it is not raw. Now much better. — Edit: November 2019: The pizza has been excellent for years. But these last 3 visits, the dough under the cheese was raw and gooey. – Alway excellent food and excellent service, then a beautiful walk around the square. My go-to spot in Denton for NY style pizza. Super friendly and courteous staff who are happy to help you out. Super delicious food. My go-to are the Pepperoni Pizza Rolls, but I've had most of everything on the menu and I've never disliked a single thing I've had. Love this spot.
