The Bowling Green - Derbyshire Dales

We visited for lunch with our dog, were welcomed by the new owners in a friendly fashion. Dog treats were offered and gratefully received. Our lunch was well cooked and presented, we thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful position in a lovely village highly recommend a visit. Good luck to the new owners.

I enjoyed lunch, dinner, and breakfast at this wonderful pub, and the food was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the rooms were warm and cozy—plus, it’s dog-friendly! I highly recommend it. This charming old country pub is full of character, complete with the delightful quirks of an older building, including a few unusual squeaks. It even has a reputation for being home to one or two friendly ghosts. I had a brilliant time and would definitely come back again!

We recently enjoyed a short break and brought our Cockerpoo, Lottie, along with us. The accommodation was excellent, featuring a staircase with French doors that opened out to a spacious outdoor seating area. The food was incredibly delicious and tasted homemade. The atmosphere was wonderfully peaceful, and Lottie was welcomed in the restaurant, where she happily sat by our table while the world went by. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable time, and we want to thank all the staff at Ye Olde Bowling Green Inn for their hospitality.

We had a lovely meal here that both of us thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent, just like the food. The ambiance of the place is beautiful, and it’s also very affordable. I had a bit of trouble finding a drink I particularly liked, but the selection was otherwise quite good.

The only reason why this inn was not received 5 stars is pure that it needs a small titivation on places. everything else was brilliant eating excellent with massive portions; truly welcoming and friendly bar staff; beautiful old fashion bar with great music; beautiful view; perfect location for walks and dog friendly. we will definitely visit again!
