The staff is friendly, but there is only one vegan main dish available. It was delicious, but you may want to consider adding soy sauce.
The vegan miso ramen was OK. I wouldn't recommend this place to vegans visiting Detroit, but my husband wanted to go, and the ramen isn't bad enough that I'd veto it. But I did have to add some soy sauce to the broth. We went around 7:30pm on a Thursday and had a bit of a wait. The space is small so there's not much room to wait, and it was too cold to wait outside, so that was a little awkward.
I concur with the previous reviewer's assessment that JNK's vegan menu options appear to be an afterthought. The vegan miso ramen was disappointingly bland and one of the worst I've had at that price point. Their ovo-lacto choices are slightly better, but still limited. The standout dish for me was the inari buns, which were absolutely delicious and one of the best things I've ever eaten in Detroit. The smoky butter noodles were also tasty, but not something I would want to indulge in frequently. If you're dining with omnivores, or seeking happy hour sake and snacks, JNK is a decent choice. However, for vegans looking for a satisfying bowl of noodles, I would recommend going to ima instead.
Nice staff, but only a main dish is vegan. but is really good, but they must add soysause.
