Located in the suburbs of Luxembourg on a street filled with restaurants, you will come across Chez Anna et Jean, a quaint family-run hotel. With three floors and ten rooms, this hotel does not have an elevator. The interior may be a bit dated, but it exudes a charming atmosphere. The rooms are simple yet clean, and the hospitable hostess, Anna, is always eager to strike up a conversation and ensure that guests are comfortable. Easily accessible by both car and public transportation, the hotel also offers free parking. While the breakfast is modest, it is more than sufficient. Those who enjoy staying with locals and have minimal requirements (such as having a supermarket, bus stop, and dining options nearby) will find this hotel to be a good choice. However, if you prefer all-inclusive hotels with professional service and amenities such as air conditioning, a coffee maker, and a hair dryer, you may want to consider booking a different accommodation.
The furniture and decor in the hotel were a bit worn, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The price reflected the overall quality of the accommodations. We requested additional cushions when booking and they were provided for us. Our room on the second floor had plenty of space for our gear. Although there was some traffic noise, closing the windows solved that issue. The continental breakfast prepared us for a day of sightseeing. We were pleasantly surprised to find different types of bread/crackers on our second morning. We enjoyed planning our activities for the day on the rooftop terrace. The hotel was located about a 30-40 minute walk from the city center. We opted to walk after long days of riding, which allowed us to explore the area and visit local bars and restaurants. We dined at an excellent Italian restaurant next door on the first day, and an okay Thai restaurant on the second day. We also found a nice bar where we could enjoy the warm weather. Overall, if you are looking for a well-located and welcoming hotel at a good price, this is a great choice. However, if you prefer more modern and soulless accommodations, this may not be the right fit for you. In that case, it may be better to stay in the city center and pay accordingly.
Chez anna et jean is a small family hotel in a suburb of luxemburg. you can reach it from luxemburg gare by bus in 7 minutes or to foot in about half an hour. it has a nostalgic touch and they feel a bit like the oma, but everything was good working. my room was right under the dach (3rd floor). there is no elevator in the house so that a move with big luggage is a little uncomfortable. the breakfast is served to its table – rolls, croissant, honey, jam, cheese and cold meat in single portions, coffee or tee, juice. anna is very nice and speaks German, English, French and perhaps more. the good connection to the city and the cheap price make the hotel highly recommended for a stay in Luxembourg.
This is probably quite cheap hotel for Luxemburg, but it is definitely not a bad place. The room is sligthly different than you can expect in most hotels. The owner was very friendly and she even left me a croissant in the morning when I did not show up for breakfast.
