Írjon visszajelzéstThe location and atmosphere are convincing, the service exquisite, and eating is heavenly. there is only enough creative touch to dress traditional Mexicans without venting to make eating attractive and tasty. this is always a must on every trip to guanajuato. and. it is worth a taxi ride on the mountain when they are on the way without a car. you'll thank me for that.
Our tour guide recommended this place, so I suspect it caters mostly to tourists. But don't let that deter you. The food is very good, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal, local fare. The soups are the stars, particularly the chilled poblano-white grape-yogurt-cream soup that...was, to be honest, almost a spiritual experience for me. I could have eaten a gallon of it. Maybe two. The other items on the menu were also good. But the soups are the thing. They overshadow the other food, good as it is, and you will still be fondly remembering them weeks later. I know I am. Prices are not low, but it's a nice, relaxing, pretty place with good waiters, in a lovely location. Perfect for lunch on a hot May day, after a busy morning spent sightseeing and shopping in Guanajuato.
The good was great here, but not everything was good. It's obvious that the current economy has impacted tourism in this region of Mexico (probably elsewhere too and I often wondered if being the only one or one of two parti,es at a restaurant impacted...the quality of the food (freshness etc. The service was adequate if unenthusiastic. Again, it may be hard to work on these slow going days. I went to another restaurant where it seemed as if the staff had been waiting hours for a guest to serve I practically had to awake the waiter when I walked in. Here at Conde, they warmed up,largely because of my own interest in engaging them (I speak Spanish. The big hit, and I would return for this alone: amazing soups. We ordered a cold avocado soup tinged with tequilla yum! and a more extraordinary chilled soup made with green grapes, yoghurt, cream and a mild chile. It was incredible. Pork with prune/raisin sauce was okay/fine, but another dish was so forgettable we neither ate it nor do I remember what it was. The ambience was very nice though nothing unique or unusual, as lovely plazas and indoor courtyards abound in Guanajuato. You can enjoy equally fine surroundings having a Michohuacan paleta (ice cream popsicle , and you should, in a courtyard/plaza on a lazy afternoon. Priciest meal I had in Mexico, so if you are on a budget I probably wouldn't splurge here, though this was a single experience on a single day and so take that with the usual grain of salt. My bill was around $48USD for two persons without tip, and that was without dessert or beverages of any kind. If you are not on a strict budget, the trip to Valenciana itself is worthwhile (the church is gorgeous and this restaurant is the natural eating destination of choice.
The restaurant Casa del Conde de la Valenciana is a fine dining experience. It is located about 4 miles just outside of the center of Guanajuato. The patio dining is so relaxing and the service is perfect. The food is so good. I recommend the...traditional tortilla soup for starters. And my mother said that the limeade was the best she had ever had. The main dishes we had were all prepared with care. Oh, I almost forgot the bread and salsa that comes with your meal. I couldn 't stop eating it, it was so addictively good. Unless you have your own car, you will need to take a cab at a cost of around $4. This is not a cheap restaurant. This is a fine dining restaurant and I am sure it is the best in Guanajuato.
Excelente servicio y comida excelente. El lugar es bellísimo y da gusto estar ahí. Lamentablemente hace mucho tiempo que no lo veo abierto, cada vez que visito Guanajuato, paso a este lugar y esta cerrado. Triste.
