The Town House - Doncaster

Hello, three of us went to this restaurant for a late lunch. The decor is nice, but maybe a bit excessive. We were seated at our table and ordered our drinks and food. The drinks arrived in about five minutes, but the food took forty-five minutes to come out, even though there were only two other couples in the restaurant. I had a BLT, which I have been trying at different places in the area. Despite all the talk about artisan bread, it needs to taste good, and in my opinion, this one was just average. One of my friends had the crab sandwich and also said it was nothing special.

The service at this restaurant is consistently slow, but today the town house outdid itself. I tried calling to book a table just after nine, but no one answered after multiple attempts. After driving 30 minutes to get there, I found the restaurant open but seemingly not very busy. There was only one couple outside and a few tables occupied inside. When I asked for a table outside, I was told they were too busy to serve cooked food. Disappointed, we decided to leave and will not be returning. It's likely that COVID will be blamed for the poor service.

This was my first visit to this restaurant and I was impressed by the variety of options on the menu. The food was delicious and the staff was welcoming and attentive. I will definitely be coming back again.

All very nice. Food matched the service which was good. Nice location and very accessible. Fair price for what was on offer.

I visited recently with some friends, we had a lovely evening, I have been here before and the food has always been top notch and this time wasn't any different, staff were very friendly and very helpful We will be back :
