Dora Creek Workers Club Restaurant

The Chinese restaurant at the Dora Creek Workers Club is a friendly place to dine, great for couples, families and groups. We have ordered from the menu, and also had the $20 buffet. The food has been excellent! And if you go on a Friday or Saturday night there are the raffles to enjoy!

I thought that the food was average although it was a buffet style they didn't rush to refill the food supplies. As far as the cost was a bit pricey for the average quality of the food. If they improved the quality of their food I'd go back more often when im in town. If you intend on having a drink then it's good..but other than that its quite average.

Had heard of this restaurant from co-workers so gave it a try. The servings are big and most meals, except king prawns, are under $20. They have two all you can eat banquet nights. Wednesday ($12) and Saturday ($20). Give it a try!!

Quite a suitable restaurant for friends or family dining, only setback is you have to walk through the middle of the function room to get to the restaurant, not good when there is a concert or entertaining on.

Friends suggested we try here as after a long drive it was close. I am a coeliac and was hesitant but found their knowledge of gluten free food excellent. When I asked what was gluten free they knew straight away. There was a whole section of chinese dishes so I wasn't able to eat quite a few of the dishes as they probably had regular soy sauce in them so without me saying a word they offered me the menu and said I could pick whatever I wanted and they would make it gluten free for me and I could still help myself to the prawns, salads. sweets etc. We were having the $20 a head smorgasbord as we had a large group so this was an amazing offer. The buffet wasn't as extensive as those at some of the other clubs in the Lake Macquarie we have been to but it was much fresher and the food had flavour. They started serving at 5pm and as they don't close till 9pm so they kept putting out fresh food and were obviously preparing each batch freshly as everyone commented on the freshness and flavour. The place was packed all evening and nothing ran out not even the fresh prawns and mussels which are obviously favourites as they have bowls for your table for shells. The place was full of happy families, no one was rushed, the service was good and the food lovely. There isn't a water view and it may not be big and flashy but it is a great place to eat and catch up with friends. Packed with locals, the best recommendation, no more need be said.
