O'charley's Restaurant Bar - Dothan

I’ve never had any issues with this restaurant, unlike its counterpart in another city, which doesn’t deliver the same quality and certainly doesn’t deserve the same rating as this location! I’m truly taken aback to hear, and now confirm, that this restaurant has closed its doors. I can’t comprehend it, and I’m not happy about this decision at all! I’ve read some reasons online, but I really hope that one day this place will return to this exact location and reopen, continuing to provide the same great experience!

I arrive around 12:15 and approach the two hostesses at the front. They seem surprised and, honestly, a bit clueless. Trying to be understanding, I mention that I called about 45 minutes earlier and the manager was involved. One of the hostesses walks away to speak with the manager and never returns. The other hostess then tells me, “We’re starting to get a little busy, so if we seat you, your service may not be very good.” I appreciate her honesty, though it’s not a great message to send to a customer. I respond, “That’s okay.” She goes to speak with the server for our seating area. After a few minutes, she comes back and says it might take 30-45 minutes, which I accept. About 20 minutes later, while my party is waiting in a now crowded area with several other small groups, a female server suddenly declares, “Do not send anyone else; I cannot handle it.” We continue waiting without any further communication, almost feeling ignored, as if they thought if they ignored us long enough, we would just vanish. Meanwhile, parties of 2, 3, 4, and 6 are seated ahead of us. After an hour of waiting and my stomach growling, I call Buffalo Wild Wings to see if they have space. I let them know we’re at O'Charley's, two doors down, and quite hungry. They respond, “Absolutely, we’re setting up your tables right now.” So, we head to Buffalo Wild Wings, where we have a wonderful time with great food and excellent service, leaving a generous tip. I can’t really comment on the food at O'Charley's since I never got to taste it, but I’m here to rate the service. There wasn't an option for zero stars, so I’ll give them a 1. It’s clear that the staff at O'Charley's could use some training.

My colleague and I had a great dinner at O'Charley's recently. Both of us commented that the hostess and the waiter were both so friendly and service was very prompt. The prices are very reasonable, including the four dollar margaritas during happy hour, and the food was served promptly and was delicious! I'm visiting from out of town but was very impressed by the hospitality :

Connie is an awesome server! Took great care of us and we enjoyed the Rib-Chicken Combo delish! And free pie night and my husband's birthday pie! Connie is Super friendly and quick service! Will stop again!

So it was a slow start... long wait for drinks and the server seemed very new! We watched as tables sat after us had drinks appetizers before we even got our coffee sweet tea. The rolls were old and chewy so we passed on them! My salmon was way overcooked and dry! The Mac Cheese was served in a paper cup and tasted like someone took cooked noodles smothered it in cheese and put it in the microwave! YUCK!!!! Definitely not someplace we will be going back too!
