Once again I have neglected to take a main course photo because I was hungry and the food was fantastic, but don't let go, I have visited France for over 30 years and that must be one of the best crepes I have... everyone had. The staff were very friendly and helpful so we reserve a table before they even opened properly. out on a sunny day eating great food with family can be a real pleasure.
The Creperie du Salle has given us a new standard by which to measure all other crepes (and galettes). Their “simple” crepes are simply perfect. Served on warmed plates so that the crepes retain their heat they are superb to the last mouthful. I almost...laughed when my crepe saucisson was placed in front of me a crepe folded twice with a lone thin sausage on top. The presentation so unassuming, the taste wonderful. The dessert crepes are just as good and the vanilla ice cream heavenly. There is a beautiful view of the bay from the terrace, the service is friendly and efficient and the house red is eminently drinkable.
Small place with seating area outside facing the port. Had a lovely lunch of traditional Breton Crepes. I can recommend you try the crepe with salmon which came with lemon and a nice dill sauce. Delicious
We found the Creperie du Salle at the start of Le Chemin de la Sardine a tourist trail leading around Douarnenez with the history of this old port. It looked inviting and seemed the obvious way to end our 2 hour walk around the...town. We were not disappointed and enjoyed both savoury and sweet crepes, along with a few glasses of rosé, which was refreshing and most welcome. The crepes are made by hand, no whisks or food processors used as it is claimed it affects the final flavour of the crepe. They certainly tasted good and looked very appetising. The staff are friendly and service was excellent. The creperie has almost the atmosphere of an English tearoom, stone walls and decorated with local pottery with Breton scenes. The coffee was good too! It is certainly somewhere to be recommended.
