Le bigorneau amoureux - Douarnenez

We spotted this restaurant as we were wandering around Douarnenez on a Saturday morning, it looks quite unprepossessing from the outside a bit of a shed over a nightclub but it's right over the town beach and it has incredible views. We made...sure we were there for lunch shortly after they opened, a good decision as they were soon turning diners away if they didn't have a reservation. I'd read that the portions are generous so we didn't have starters but went straight to main course. I ordered the brochette de St Jacques au lard et chorizo and OH ordered Pave de lieu jaune au beurre blanc. Both were served with garlic bread, backed potatoes and creme fraiche, both were generous, and the pollack was the best that OH had eaten all week (and we ate a lot of fish)! Good value, excellent location, and well worth a visit.

Rustic little place very efficient, super fresh fish. We had sardines scallops to start then scallops& chorizo skewer and sardines fit a main. Both delicious. Lovely helpful staff. Wine by the carafe not bad either. Well done.

We went for a family lunch. The place is very small and so to is the menu but the view and service is great! We had sardines the children had jacket potatoe with burger (steak) I had Camembert I am vegetarian. Deserts were also great!...Creme brûlée and chocolate mouse. The food was lovely very busy place

Great value and superb fresh menu. Get there early to avoid disappointment. Busy lunch venu with superb chef's suggestions'. Unless you have a heart appetite you may not want an entree and a plat fortunately the chef came out to tell me that I...may have over ordered!

Simply the best restaurant during our trip (15 days under normandy and brittany.) good eating and good feelings.
