Hidden River Brewing Company

Wow, what a hidden jewel! I saw someone post online about this brewery and the beer looked fantastic! I made the 3 hours drive from Rockville, Maryland to try it! It was worth it. Love the location. In a 300-year-old lodge. Taproom is small, cozy and intimate. They specialize in fazy IPAs, but there was also a Kolsch, Pilsner and stout on tap. The hives here are with the best I ever had. Excellent service also! Almost hit a case! Whether you live around the corner or hours away, it is totally worth it because the beer is amazing!

That was just one of the Cozies breweries I've ever been to. Located on a huge amount next to a quiet river, Hidden River brewery is in a mansion that looks like it should be in a hunted fairy tale. It helps to further decorate the interior for Halloween. Vibes aside, all employees were a pleasure to interact with, and while I would have enjoyed more variety in the beers, what I tried was very good. For the reference there is an indoor and outdoor seating area, a complete kitchen/food is available and credit cards are accepted. From Philly it was a hour-long ride, and while I do this type of dedicated drive not only to visit again, if I already in this direction I would definitely return.

The beer selection is great, especially if you're a fan of IPAs since they have a wide variety. I tried the Embellish Pilsner since it was the only non-IPA available at the time; it was still quite hoppy. However, I was much more impressed by the building itself, which is an old house that adds charm to the brewery. The atmosphere was pleasant, and there’s ample seating both indoors and outdoors.

I've visited many top breweries in Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Massachusetts, and this brewery ranks among the very best. As an IPA enthusiast, I can say their selections are outstanding. They also offer a great variety of dishes—while the food is more casual, it definitely stands out. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and the interior features several bars and seating areas within a charming old house. We truly enjoy this place!
