We ordered indie spice to go and the experience was awful. I had gotten the vegetable samosas and the vegetable tikka. The samosas flavouring was good but they needed a dipping sauce or something to make them less dry. The tikka was completely bland and flavourless, one of the worst I’ve had. The naan bread was awful, undercooked and not remotely chewy (tasted like the ones you buy in Tesco). The other diner ordered chicken samosas and lamb tikka and enjoyed both. The price of the meal- €28 was decent and the food was ready on time. All in all, a poor experience.
We went there last week as the pandemic restrictions were starting to impact, however they were welcoming, helpful and sensible about seating arrangements. The food was fabulous, delicious, beautifully presented and even better not the same old dishes. Having said that their Nan Popadoms were splendid, so much so that I took the last of the Nan home with me as I couldn't bear to leave it behind. They also had a delicious local beer (Underdog Hoppy Lager) which matched extremely well with the food. Prices were good too.
Booked a table and turned up at the appropriate time, only to be told that the restaurant was closing for the evening. If only we'd walked away! when we were finally seated, we were told that we would have to have our starters and main courses together as they were closing. Towards the end of the meal the they started taking plates and glasses before we were finished, and we were not left to finish our meal in peace. Food can best be described as indifferent. Service was appalling. We won't be going back.
This is a fine local to have and frequented it over the years however since a change of ownership the food has definitely slipped as mentioned to the owner at the end of meal. Duck rolls not something would normally have in an Indian were a meager portion and what little duck contained therein had been dead a long time ! Lamb Shank was generous and tender enough though spicing, the key to good Indian nosh, needs to be overhauled by Chef. Pleased to say the owner took it in good spirits, we hope our doubtless next visit will see an improvement.
