The Baths - Dublin

We stopped by for drinks on a Sunday afternoon. The place was charming, but unfortunately, we arrived before the bartenders were on duty.

The restaurant serves tasty food, but the cost is high because of its location by the water. The appetizers are expensive for what you get, with basic ingredients, small portions, and lacking creativity. The staff is friendly but seems inexperienced: we had to order before getting menus, some dirty dishes were not cleared, and paying took too long. The dining space is stylish but could use some upkeep, especially the dirty and stained chair upholstery. Overall, The Baths offers a mediocre dining experience that is too pricey and marred by various mistakes. There are better dining choices in the Clontarf neighborhood.

The restaurant offers a pleasant saltwater pool experience with a cozy water temperature of 16 degrees. The staff is very accommodating. However, it is confusing to see No Entry signs at the front gate and to observe the restaurant disposing of its trash on the path to the pool. It is important to mention that this is not a typical bathing area; the use of shampoo and soap is prohibited, and individuals caught violating this rule will be requested to leave.

The food is enjoyable, but does carry a hefty surcharge because of the waterside location. Especially the starters seems extremely overpriced for the basic ingredients, small portion size and limited creativity. The team is pleasant but seems poorly trained: we were asked to order before getting menus, then half the dirty crockery wasn't cleared afterwards, and it took way too long to request/pay the bill. The dining room is stylish but partly in very poor condition. Especially the chair upholstery was just filthy with stains and food. So overall The Baths is an alright but overpriced experience marred by a handful of basic mistakes. It's very easy to find better options around Clontarf.

This restaurant is fantastic for enjoying a beautiful day with great views.
